Welcome to the Friends of Ewelme Church, a charity set up to raise money for the conservation, embellishment and maintenance of this medieval church building. The charity operates independently of the Church of England.​

The Church of St Mary the Virgin has been a focal point of this historic village for over 600 years, and much within predates the Reformation. Our aim is to ensure that this magnificent example of 15th century architecture remains in the best possible condition for generations to come.

 

As the entries in the visitor’s book testify, St. Mary’s is a place of peace and tranquility.

 

All are welcome, whether they come for a sense of history or to search for a sense of peace in the face of God. This unique complex is a piece of English history, our aim is to ensure it remains so.
